Bistek Tagalog a la Kam


Quick blog post about a quick Filipino comfort dish :)

What you need:
1 tbsp. Olive Oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 lb. sliced beef (Beef for hot pot would be awesome for this)
Juice of 5-6 Calamansi (or 1 lemon/2 small limes)
1/8 cup Filipino soy sauce
1/8 cup Water
pepper to taste
1 medium onion, chopped to rings
1 tbsp. Chinese cooking wine *optional

How it's done:
In a pan, heat up olive oil and then add garlic. Saute until golden brown.
Add in sliced beef and cook until pink is all gone.
Add soy sauce, water and calamansi. Simmer for 10-15 minutes on low to medium heat.
Add the pepper, Chinese cooking wine and onions, and simmer on low heat for 3-5 minutes.

Serve with rice, yummy!
